cannot attach files email under browse window

Hi There,
When using the windows 'browse' function under ANY webamil application to attach a file, Vista cannot see ANY files at all.
Vista can only see folders and system objects (such as control panel, security centre etc etc). Vista cannot browse for any file types at all.
this seems like a bug, or is there a work around.
